What makes a pizza a pizza?

Is it the base? The cheese? The sauce? The toppings?

Or does a pizza necessitate all of the above? How many elements does it need?

When is a pizza not a pizza?

A pizza requires the base and at least one food item covering at least 90% of that base. That's the criteria for me

1. A pizza requires a base, either tomato paste or oil, then toppings of your choice. Obviously, pineapple, cheese and ham being the best three.
2. A pizza ceases to be a pizza when it has mushrooms, anchovies or olives on it. Potentially also seafood.
Anything else is fake news

I can do mushrooms, but I am absolutely on Team Anti-Anchovies and Team Anti-Olive
