Ideas for electric device choice?

I have to choose an electrical device and write a report on it. However, I'm unable to think of any! I'm told that a light bulb is too simple. All I can think of is a light bulb, kettle and possibly a fan? What else could I do? The criteria state that it must be easy enough to disassemble so that the circuitry are visible. Any ideas?

Hello, it depends on what your teacher wants the report to be about and what your parents let you take apart. A good start for finding dead appliances is to start looking in hard rubbish piles or garage sales.
