Should i pick maths specialist

So im in year 10 and picking subjects for atar next year.
I am doing very good in maths i even came first in my school for maths but im not sure if i should pick maths specialist.
Some people say that its too hard and considering my school is dumb, i don't know if im good enough for it.

Is specialist difficult?

If you good at maths then go for it, don't ever let others define what you want to do but do remember that you are doing it for yourself and not for someone else. I am completing spesh this year and yes it is challenging but very rewarding. Unlike methods you go further into concepts and often solve things that are deemed 'impossible' for example the square root of a negative number.
Do keep in mind it does take a bit of time and studying for sacs can be a bit stressful but it's all worth it you enjoy it!

If you're good at maths, then specialist will be worth doing. Do you enjoy doing maths? If you do enjoy maths, then specialist will probably be a good subject to pick. Maybe ask your maths teacher or advice from other people you know.

It's a difficult subject but you might as well give it a go. If you don't enjoy it, you can always drop it after 1/2 but it sound like it will be a good fit since you love maths.
