Sometimes there are stories like these, where people die in the process of helping others. Sometimes being successful and sometimes failing and resulting in another death.

Personally, I would not help in these cases or many other cases, things like this do scare me :P

Without weapons, I definitely would. I have done so in the past, although it's just pretty basic-level breaking up fights between high school students or at dumb parties -- just pulling people away or holding them for a moment, stuff like that.

With weapons? I'd be scared -- I'd be an idiot not to. I've never been in this situation, so I can't really say. I'd like to say I would rush in to help, but in all reality, it's entirely possible I'd freeze up and do nothing. So in theory, yes, but in practicality, I have absolutely no way of knowing. I suppose I'm pretty hopeful that if I am ever in such a situation and a stranger has the opportunity to stop it, they would.

I don't think many people could say with absolute certainty that they'd help out against someone with a weapon. If you would though, all power to you.

I would really like to say that I would -but i'm a 17 year old girl so I don't think i'd be much help against someone much bigger with a weapon. I think that I probably would freak out as well. I think that i'd want to but I don't know if I really would-especially if weapons were involved.

I would try do my best to get help/help without getting physically involved if I can help it. Look around, call the police. Along those lines.

Not exactly a situation with weapons but, how would you react to this situation? It seems like instinct to run over while on the phone to the police but there seems a possibility they would run you over or give little regard for you.

Sorry if this makes the discussion slightly off topic.

I think that i would do something to help, whether its call the police, or apply first aid if injury has already happened, but I don't know how directly involved I would get if I thought I could be killed or seriously injured. If I cant help effectively and get myself injured trying to do something outside of my abilities that just makes things more difficult for the next person who tries to help
