Prereq for Grad Med entry pathway

Hi!

I'm unsure if this question has been answered before, so apologies if it has.

My question is regarding the Graduate Medicine entry pathway that Monash University has for their Biomedical Science students. According to the Monash website, students need to have a 70+ WAM by the end of the first semester of their penultimate year, but I was wondering if ALL students with a 70+ WAM will be offered an interview, or if its based on ranking. If so, how many students will be offered an interview? If we assume that my WAM was, say, 82, can I be sure that I will be offered an interview?

Thanks!

From the website looks like it's based on ranking for the set number of interview offers
- who maintain an Average Mark (AM) of 70 or above at the end of the first semester of their penultimate year may be offered the opportunity to undertake an interview
- The clearly in Average Mark for interview for applicants who applied in 2016 for 2018 entry via the Biomedical Science was 79.89

For the Biomedical Science pathway (the 50 places), the AM (average mark) is calculated from the first 9 core units that you do as part of the Biomedical Science course. The required 70+ minimum AM is a hurdle only and selection for interview is indeed based off ranking, and as stated above, the minimum AM for interview last year was 79.89 (but changes every year). Not sure as to how many people are offered an interview though, my guess would be around 100-150?
Hope this helps  :)

I have heard whispers that around 150 are interviewed. Personally I feel you would need a much higher average than the cutoff to be competitive.

No you cant be sure of an interview as cohort strengths change every year hope this helps
