Hey! I hear you with your frustration, this stuff at peak time takes a ridiculously long time and it frankly sucks that the infrastructure isnt there to allow these applications to get through quicker.
In the short term I would (if there is any left this week), go to lectures/classes for the subject and times and locations can be found here:
https://sws.unimelb.edu.au/2017/ They actually do encourage students go to those classes lectures while they are waiting for their advanced standing to be approved.
At this point I would definitely say heading to stop 1 could help, and would suggest heading in tomorrow morning AS SOON as they open. At the moment they are running two different drop in sessions, one at the normal front entrance where course planners are located in 'pods' to give more advice type info, then the second down the back in the 'gallery' where stuff to do with enrolments are handled. That queue is substantially quicker and may be the place to go.
At the moment stop 1 is swamped, but if you are savvy and get there early it may be a big help. (or not who knows, my personal experiences besides shitty wait times have been positive)
