Theres a printing shop next to Encompass. Its quite cheap there, and they give free printing (60 pages) to new members. You have to buy a pre paid printcard (like $20, $50, $100). The higher value print cards would allow you to print for 4 cents per page (around that much). I just dont like how they charge for the use of the computers though...

Where is this "Encompass" that you speak of?

Thanks in advance,

Ken

It's in Swanston Street across from the university, a bit farther down towards the city

When you see Subway, continue walking down towards city, and you will find it. Encompass and the printing store are next to each other.

Encompass people are awesome. And their prices are so much better than the uni bookstore.

how many pages are the lecture notes? and how big are they... back when i did macro i printed like 8 slides onto one page, so try that option out multiple slides per page. even 2 per page will cut costs down by half and you wont even need an exercise book in lectures as you use the back as extra writing space if needed.

Slightly off topic, but instead of printing off the lecture notes, can you buy them at the bookshop, those big bounded book things? Or are they course notes?

Course notes can be lecture notes. For Summer semester Linear Algebra, my course notes that I got from the bookshop were lecture notes. It really depends on the subject.

If the lecturer doesn't mention anything about course notes that are preprinted, then you'll have to print them off yourselves from LMS.

I've given up on cheap printing. Let printing waste my money :(

it really depends on the lecturer some will print it and bind it to sell in the bookshop (most lecturers refer it to the bookroom?) others will put on LMS or there are ones that dont even post slides on the LMS (only an overview) and you have to attend lectures to copy notes down (as it wont be available online).

The great lecturers (most 1st yr commerce subs) on the other hand post up post-lecture slides with all the notes written on it accompanied by the audio. (basically just learn online if you wish. for eg. intro micro and intro macro). So there is no need to print hence save $$$$$$$$$$$$

My lecturers ask us to print out their slides, only .. they're kinda a lot. Can anyone recommend a place for cheap printing? I looked at the printing services Brisbane place at unimelb but they didn't have anything related to their rates.

Hello,

You can go through any local printing shop that can help you out. If you talk to them they will give you a good discount....

Hey, welcome to ATAR Notes!
