Further Maths VS Informatics

Hey guys, my little brother currently has to choose a unit 1/2 subject to do in year 10, to finish it off in year 11.

He has a wide range of choices but I'm pushing towards computing and he is towards general maths. The reasons why I think he should do informatics is:
-it's relatively simple to grasp
-the informatics cohort in our school is pretty small with majority of the students who do not care about the subject unfortunately
-him being a year 11 student, itll work to his advantage in a year 12-dominated class

And although both subjects scale down, I feel like it's 'easier' to get a higher scaled SS in informatics than in further.

Pls help me help him! :') much appreciated

If he's pushing toward General Maths, I'd be encouraging him toward General Maths. Does he have any interest in Computing? Either way, he's ultimately in the best position to make that decision; there's not much point getting him to do Computing if he's not that interested in it.

Regarding your points:

"it's relatively simple to grasp"
Subjective, and could argue the same for General Maths, anyway.

"the informatics cohort in our school is pretty small with majority of the students who do not care about the subject unfortunately"
I don't see this as a positive thing. What's the General Maths cohort like?

"him being a year 11 student, itll work to his advantage in a year 12-dominated class"
In what sense? Regardless, could argue the same (I assume) for General Maths.

And although both subjects scale down, I feel like it's 'easier' to get a higher scaled SS in informatics than in further"
Based on what?

Oxford comma, Garamond, Avett Brothers, Orla Gartland enthusiast.
