What are some legislation I could include in a paragraph about R v Skaf
I know his sentence was reduced as it was higher than the statutory guidelines for the max sentence of murder - but in what law is this max sentence found

Also, what exactly is the year the case took place, and was it heard in the District or Supreme Court

there's one about the victim impact statement, but i can't remember the exact legislation. the case takes place over a couple of years, so there's no year specified. i used the case in my crime response in trials and not providing a year wasn't an issue :-)

Relevant legislation:
-Crimes Act 1900
-Crimes (Appeals and Review) Act 2001
-Jury Act 1977
-Crimes Amendment (Aggravated Sexual Assault in Company) Act 2001

There isn't really a specific year for the case, but I just use R v Skaf 2000.
