Hey guys!
So i was reading one of Heidi's posts about vocabulary the other day, where he had a link to an essay by George Orwell:(

Firstly, I'd commend you all to read it. Although its a few years old, his words are still relevant (to me, at least), and honestly its so refreshing to read something which is expertly written and not even slightly relating to COMPARING AND CONTRASTING ARGHHHHH...
My question would be, is it worth trying to implement this sort of writing for our VCE exams? If, say, we wrote our essay in the style of the Ecclesiastes example as opposed to Orwell's parody, could we get high marks? Or do you think the examiners would expect us to write in the style that is commonly viewed as "sophisticated" today?
I guess, to some extent, it's not that much of an issue right now, because none of us can completely change our writing style in the month or so left before exams, but I think its worth some level of discussion.
