Question
Hello, could anyone please send me the way in which they derived a solution to the following questions?
Thanks!
Question 24: The question as badly worded and I assume they mean the extra interest charged is for the five years only.
Find the future value after 5 years with interest charged monthly ($32083.97) and then also daily (32100.09).
The difference between your two results ($16.12) is option A.
Question 4: I think this question is flawed since these two places are not on the same lines of longitude or latitude and none of the answers fit the information given. Maybe they are both meant to be 12 degrees north or 12 degrees south, but even then none of the answers would be correct.
Say they are both at 12 degrees north. You need to then find the shortest distance along that line of latitude between the two places.
The radius of the line of latitude at 12 degrees north 6400.cos (12) where 6400 is the earth's radius.
The smallest angle between the longitudes of these two places is 35 degrees.
The distance wanted is around an arc that subtends an angle of 35 degrees and has a radius of 6400.cos(12).
This distance is 35/360 x 2pi x 6400.cos(12)  which is not an option
or  35/180 x pi x 6400.cos(12) which is also not an option. (option D is almost right.)

Hey, thanks for the reply

For question 24 - the answer is apparently option B, and for question 4 - I also got (35/360) x 2pi x 6400cos(12)...
so it must just mean that the solutions uploaded are wrong. Thanks!
