Does anybody know if Scandium and Zinc are in the transition elements? According to the IUPAC it isn't but some other sources says it is. If there is a question asking me to list the 1st transition series , do I include them both?

It is a dot point that they are not transition elements, they can't be counted as a transition metal. Scandium has one electron in its d-orbital that it can lose when it forms an ion and the Zinc the has full d-orbital.
