Omg I'm more impressed by the post, but also doubting my performances now. I guess all I can do now is just get my act together, study and smash the theory

Henry Kocatekin:
Hahaha, don't be!!!

As in, totally be impressed, (the year did well!), but that doesn't take away from your performance

True, true! I think my performance was fabulous and original regardless of what 2 old people think, and onstage isn't the be all and end all anyway. You're right  :)

Again, for some reason I missed this thread! In case you guys were still interested, I believe they find out sometime this month. The project students will also find out soon if they got onto Onstage, as they don't announce nominations, only those who are to be shown.

It is important to take into account that the selection of works for Onstage is very political. Not in any way am I attempting to discredit the works that are shown - they are amazing, and all would receive high marks - however Onstage isn't showing the "best" performances, it is showing those that will work the "best" as a collective. They need a range of performances - comedies, classics/shakespeare, emotional, alternative, etc. etc. They will always show more comedies for example, as they can hold an average audiences attention longer than a very serious performance shakespeare, even if the latter was incredible.  Furthermore, they also need to make sure that they accomodate a diverse range of school background - drama schools, public schools, private schools, catholic schools, regional schools, etc. etc.

So never ever doubt your performance because you didn't get onto Onstage :) But if you did, be very proud, because it is an indicator that you absolutely smashed the performance! Just not getting onto Onstage is not a indicator of the inverse :)
