Hi, I need help with this question! I know the process of how to do it, but the thing that confuses me is the term "largest possible". I also don't know what "smallest possible" means in a maths question. Thank you

Hi!
40Mbps = 40 MB per second
The largest possible file size is the maximum of what can be downloaded based on this speed. The smallest would be the opposite, in this case, it would probably be 1MB or less.
Taking part b as an example:
1 minute = 60 seconds
Thus, the file can be a maximum of 60*40 = 2,400MB in size

Jess is 100% right - But you also need to convert from Mb to MB - Which I believe is done by dividing by 8? So:

yep this is wrong, please observe the distinction between megabits (Mb) and megabytes(MB). If the internet speed is 40Mbps this equates to 5MB of bandwidth per second.

IT student here =)

1 Mbps = 0.125 MBps
Thus 40 Mbps = 5 MBps
a)8 Mbps = 5 MBps
b) = 5Mbps x 60 = 300 MBps
c) = 300 MBps x 60 = 18000
...
Savas had the right answer, Jess had the right answer (but did state a wrong assumption). 40Mbps = 8 MB per second.
