In chapter 8 in the novel A Farewell to Arms, Henry tells Catherine that he love her but his is really playing "a game" and does not hold such deep feelings at this stage. Catherine knows this and says, "you don't have to say you love me. That's over for the evening."
what is over? what game is Catherine playing and why?
