What should I do? [course advice]

Hiiiiiiiiiii

I'm currently studying the bSci at uom and I'm looking to transfer into a commerce (pref eco/fin/mgmt) degree.

It's highly unlikely I'll be able to transfer into the bCom at uom because I did really bad in my first sem (took it like vce lmao kill me) anyway there are a number of options available that I'm tossing between and I really have no idea what is best for me so any advice would me greatly appreciated.

(first year btw)

RMIT: bachelor of business (eco & finance, applied) cbd campus, ~1hr commute [poorly ranked, although has a compulsory industry placement]
Monash: bCom, ~2hr commute [ranked highly, 2nd to uom]
Deakin: bCom ~1h45m commute [ranked faily high]
UOM: bAgri - majoring in agricultural economics (not entirely sure this suits me)

To be honest, I wouldn't be preoccupied with 'rankings' very much at all. Doing something you enjoy and receive good marks for is more important than the crest on your testamur. Furthermore, those rankings largely derive from research output; the undergraduate programs at each institution are pretty homogenised.

For what it's worth, Monash has been very good for my economics classes and I recommend it highly (especially if you're interested in doing a double degree). However, a 2 hour commute is pretty massive. Is there any chance you could move closer to campus?

I am happy to answer any questions you have about economics at Monash if you have any (given that I am procrastinating studying for my upcoming economics exams...).

I had a mate transfer into Melb Commerce from arts with a 60 WAM and a less-than-stellar ATAR, it's not too difficult to get in.

If I were you, I'd keep doing science at Melbourne and transfer at the end of next sem. Getting a WAM high enough to transfer shouldn't be too difficult if you put in the effort. However, fill up your breadths with commerce subjects, so you'll have already done some and won't take a full 3 years to finish the degree.
