So you spent this whole year studying for methods and its for nothing? You would rather do six subjects in year 12 instead of 5? Much better to just strive to do better in other subjects. I mean low 30s to 40s is a huge gap in terms of knowledge, and in year 12, its not just the one subject, its 4,5 or even 6, so you might just end up getting around the same study score for methods and feel extremely disappointed. It's better to just learn from the past and move on.

Sadly it has gone to waste because i wasn't able to score high enough on the exams but the reason why i decided to take up methods this year was for the opportunity to re do. 5 subjects next year would be absolutely amazing and such a huge advantage. Honestly i think i won't re do if i end up getting a high 30, 40 is impossible i believe from my scores. I also have always believed methods would be in my top 4 so idk what to dooooooo.  :-\ :'(

My scenario is identical to yours, except I'm in year 12 lol.

I wouldn't repeat honestly, it's too much of a gamble with the 'new' style of methods exam 2s. These sort of 'dodgy' questions might be a continual trend from now to the next study design, the questions from 2014 and the past are gone now.

Methods is one of those subjects which punishes you heavily for having a bad day tbf, the amount of effort I put in to this load of shit and the net result is sad.

They really are. I feel like the exams just keep getting harder sadly :( i'll just wait till december 15th to make a final decision. Also what do you guys think I'm actually looking at with those scores. A 36+ish? such a disappointment for my school as well.

I second this; perhaps try out further or spec? After doing the further exam, I can honestly say it was the easiest 45+ in my life. Haven’t done the sec exam yet, but from the ones I’ve done, they’re not like the methods style bs papers, so you could crack a 45+ scaled in that.

Last year I felt the same, that I’d bombed bio (lol). Just trust the bell curve and you never know - you may surprise yourself! I personally gave myself a cutoff (42 raw) and convinced myself if it were to be lower, I’d re-do it through distance ed alongside my 5 others, so maybe consider this... but still the new exams for methods are absolute bs and so I’d just move on and exploit further or do spec.

MtDna what were your scores on the further exam? I was told today that I'm super unlikely to get a 45+ with my scores.
