What's the process of getting accepted into Actuarial studies?

whats the process in applying and being accepted into actuarial studies at Melb uni?

You apply for UoM BCom and choose actuarial studies as your major. Don't really understand...was that what you were asking

Major in Actuarial Studies
To major in actuarial studies you will need to meet
the admission requirements for entry into the
Bachelor of Commerce.

In order to gain entry to the first year mathematics
subjects you will need a study score of at least
37 in VCE Units 3 & 4 Specialist Mathematics
or equivalent. Alternative study programs are

So they're saying that as long as we do get 96 and above 37 for spesh we are indeed guaranteed spots in the courses revolving around actuarial studies
no interviews? high distinctions in uni anything like that?

37 in spesh allows you to take the prerequisite subjects, otherwise you will have to take additional subjects. I would link you to the subject handbook but it seems to be down.

I think you have to get over 60% in all areas of study or else you fail the course and are unable to complete it.

Alright, these are numbers right off the website. For locals, you need at least 92 to be considered, and if you get 95.2, you are most likely to get in. For international students, 92 guarantees you a place in the course.

My understanding is that you will most likely be screwed, the demand is too high. I heard this from a UoM Comm faculty rep who came to my school to speak (advertise).
