Hi all!

First thing's first: I've actually graduated from uni. In fact, I finished up my Honours year at the end of 2016. I felt like I was missing out on the fun, though, so please accept this journal for what it is, even though it isn't strictly a university journey journal. ;)

I completed a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University, majoring in Linguistics and International Studies. I preferred the former, and went on to write my thesis in the field of sociolinguistics. More specifically, I considered the linguistically gendered media portrayal of Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd throughout their respective Prime Ministerships. I absolutely despised uni through my first semester and to a lesser extent first year, but ended up loving it. I think I'll go back to academia at some point in my life. If you're interested, you can read more in the following threads - or simply ask below!:

- Studying Arts at Monash: a guide

- Studying abroad, student exchange: what, why, how

I now work full-time, which you can read about here:

But what's this journal all about, punk?
Great question. This journal will be for random musings, things I've realised about school/uni in hindsight, and things I learn about stuff on a day-to-day basis. Am I going to make the first of those musings now?

No. No, I am not.

There will be many Avett Brothers references. I'm a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't include one (or several) in the opening post.

And the other thrilling realisations?
