A Big Announcement

Well, two of them actually!

Many of our NSW Members (and probably lots of Victorians) will know jakesilove. He's our Physics and Chemistry lecturer, but beyond that, he is also one of the three original National moderators for NSW. In his nearly two years in that role, he's contributed an extraordinary amount:

- Nearly 2000 posts, almost 500 in the HSC Chemistry section alone
- Started and developed most of the Q+A Threads for NSW Maths and Science
- A heap of exam solutions, a heap of essay marking, and a heap of other contributions as well

Essentially, Jake is a huge reason that we have an ATAR Notes Community in NSW in the first place. In AN history, he'll go down as a founding father.

He'll still be around, but for the most part Jake has moved on from the forums and is working on other cool AN projects, so it is time to immortalise him as the very first Honorary Moderator from NSW.

Please congratulate our first ever Honorary Moderator for NSW, jakesilove!
With Jake relinquishing his National Moderator position, we need someone to step up and fill the role. This is a big deal - Our first new national moderator for NSW for nearly two years. They play a unique role on the site; guiding our state moderators and steering our site into the future.

Please congratulate our newest National Moderator, sudodds!
Susie's first post on ATAR Notes was nearly a year and a half ago, and she's been a state moderator for most of 2017. Over 1500 posts later, including a heap of essay marking, a crazy crazy Q+A in July, and tonnes of mad banter, her contributions are unquestionable. What sets her apart though is her passion for giving guidance to the next generation of AN leaders, including our newer state moderators. That is, unquestionably, her most valuable contribution.

Ultimately, becoming a National Moderator is just putting a title on a role Susie already plays - Quite simply, AN NSW would not be what it is today without her influence, and we are incredibly proud to recognise her contributions ;D
As Jake and Susie transition to their new roles, I encourage everyone to do the same thing as we move into the new year. If you're just lurking and have never made a post - Make a post. See where it takes you! If you normally ask questions, try answering one - See where that takes you! Do some writing for us. Maybe even apply to become a moderator yourself - We'll have a new round of applications very soon. ATAR Notes gets better and better the more people are contributing, that's the beauty of this awesome community  8)

Will Susie's banter be increased in proportion?

super keen to take this on! Jake's leaving some pretty big shoes to fill (and I have notoriously small feet that haven't grown since year 8 true story #size5life), but I'll definitely do my best, and I know I have the best community to help guide me :)
