I want to get as far ahead as possible with Physics 3/4 these holidays, so what should I do in order to get ahead while retaining all learnt knowledge?
Will going through the textbook help? Thanks.

Hey!
Going through the textbook will help, but also practice questions will also help too! ;D

My teacher encouraged our class (by which I mean gave it to us as homework), to do a couple of chapters of last years Checkpoints, the projectile motion that was strongly related to stuff we did last year. He also gave us last years exam, so we could go through that as well. But yes, reading through the textbook, doing questions from Checkpoints etc., these are the main things to do!

Reading the textbook is definitely an effective way to get ahead, but I personally found it much more engaging to also watch YouTube videos covering the topics in the course. They often present concepts in clear and simple ways that texts book fail to do, and are a great way to deepen your understanding of concepts by learning them in slightly greater detail. Make sure you don't study too hard though! There is plenty of time throughout the year to really grasp the physics course, so make to take some time over the holidays to relax and refresh yourself.

True, Khan Academy is an awesome resource, I love using it! Greatly recommend it, even though it studies some different topics. It's still great!

Your teacher may start with fields or circular motion. In either case, I'd recommend developing an understanding of circular motion on the holidays as it is highly relevant to fields. Additionally, this is something that in previous exam many students have shown a lack of understanding about so exposing yourself to the concepts multiple times might be a good idea.  (KhanAcademy videos were relevant for this topic and having a video really helps)

make sure that you also have a break and take care of your health. You don't want to burn out.
