Lectures posted online? + Timetable advice

Regarding the subject, mathematics for biomedicine, are all the lectures posted online? Also for biomolecules and cells, in the location column for some of the lectures, it is listed "X Online", does this mean that these are online alternatives and we don't have to go attend the physical lecture?
Also for my timetable, I literally have 6 hr blocks with back to back lectures, pracs, tutes etc from 8am to 1pm haha, will I DIE? Has anyone actually tried this and felt okay with it? I'm not too keen on 1hr breaks in between, I think another thread outlined this.
thanks guys

As per the university's policy, all lectures are recorded unless there is some exceptional circumstance (e.g. an industry speaker coming in). Unfortunately there can be issues with lecture capture (some lecturers like to turn it off, sometimes only audio records, sometimes there is no audio), so it is highly recommended that you do attend the lectures. This is especially for subjects that utilise the document camera (this doesn't always get recorded). But if you can't attend the lecture in person, they should be available online (any problems and you can email the coordinator and they will fix it)

X-online means that the lecture is a virtual lecture, where there is no physical attendance.

6 hours of class back to back is a lot. It can be very difficult to stay focussed for so long without a proper break. It may be detrimental to your studies, as you may potentially be overwhelmed with content and having to listen for so long can take a lot out of a person. I would recommend fitting a 1 hour break somewhere between your classes just so you can have something to eat and relax, so that you are refreshed when going to the next lot of classes.

Yeah, 3 hours in a row is the absolute max for me before I get too hungry and tired to focus. 6 hours in a row would be hell.

Definitely agree with trying to fit a break in that 6 hour block especially since it's your first semester at uni. I also remember some first year biomed pracs being pretty intense so getting a break in that block just to give yourself a bit of a breather would probably be helpful.

All biomed 1st year subjects are recorded on lecture capture, but be aware that lecture capture isn't perfect. That being said, I find it easier to watch lectures at home because I can pause whenever I want, so you might find it better.

In first year, I had both my bio and chem pracs on Tuesday and I would recommend avoiding that bc it meant that a lot of the time I was very tired by the end of the day and when you consider that the pracs are being assessed (plus you have post-prac quizzes for bio), you'll want to avoid stacking so many hrs of class together.

Thank you, this is insightful. I'll try to take everyones advice and avoid blocking in long back to back sessions. Does anyone have more timetabling tips in general/for biomed specifically, or things you wished you did differently for your timetable in the first year?

In biomed there isn't really much in your control in 1st year because of all the compulsory subjects. I really disliked my first sem first year timetable because I had an 8am lecture, a 4 hour gap, and then a clash between a lecture and German. Things like this aren't really in your control, but I'd avoid clashes as much as possible and always go to lectures in person UNLESS you're skipping that day entirely to avoid having to travel to uni.
