For 10)
A+B = 1000
A = 3B
3B + B = 4B = 1000
Therefore B = 250
A = 3*250 = 750

Hi :)
Q10
Let barry = x
Let Anne = 3x
so x+3x = 4x
4x = 1000
so x = 250
Barry = x = 250
Anne = 3*250 = 750
