3/4 VCE Physics Report Write Up

Hey fellow VCE Physics students,

Currently undertaking 3/4 Physics and I'm up to the first assignment to be handed in, a prac/report write up. I honestly have no idea how to write one properly, and my teacher seems to be nitpicking on trivial stuff that doesn't seem crucial to the importance of the report.

I changed teachers between 1/2 and 3/4, I really liked the 1/2 teacher has he made things easy to understand, but my 3/4 teacher is driving me up the walls a little. One thing I find ridiculous is that she's imposed a 300 word count on the report, which to me seems stupid, and he reasoning was that she is bad at english and can't be bothered reading a full sized report

Can anyone give me guidelines on what I should be focusing on in a physics report, what I shouldn't bother with and what will be most beneficial.

Hey!
It seems to me that your teacher wants you to write a super basic prac report. I'd focus on these:
- An aim
- A hypothesis (including your IV and DV)
- Method-  if you have enough words go for step by step, otherwise dotpoint it
- Results
- Discussion about results, such as errors or problems encountered, and trends you see in your experiment
- A conclusion to either accept or reject your inital hypothesis

(This is just a skeleton, you'd obviously need to beef it up) :)
Hope this helps a bit! :)
