Dean's list for Biomedicine

Hi folks,

I'm just wondering what kind of average do you need for Biomed's Dean's list in second year? There is no information about Dean's list on university's website. And in an older thread someone said he missed out with 93.5 WAM which sounds pretty insane :o. It would be really appreciated if anyone could provide any information about it.

it will obviously change every year so there is no strict cutoff but you'd definitely want low 90's or higher to be competitive imo. Probably slightly lower  (but definitely nothing too significant) WAMs may be needed now since more people are being included into the course - just a thought.

I know this post is old, but in case you're still wondering. I got on the Dean's Honours List in 2016 with a WAM of 87.625. But I didn't get on the Dean's Honours List in 2017 with a WAM of 88.562 (so I think it fluctuates depending on how strong your cohort is in that year).  :)

I missed out with 88 in 2015! So higher than that I guess?
It’s only the top 3%, which is about 15-20 people or so

An award you get for being in the top 3% (I think) of your cohort in any given year.

damit i should have worked harder this year.
is it like a financial prize or just some certificate?
Also we have 700+ students in our cohort, so does the 3% rule still apply? (that's a lot of prizes to give)

edit: nvm my last sentence. Just realised 3% of 700 is 21

Pretty sure the 3% rule still applies; keep forgetting they're expanding the size of the cohorts so much.

My understanding is that it's just a certificate and that it's noted on your transcript.
