I'm legit so dumb in legal :(
So we have an exam on Monday
Assess the effectiveness of the criminal trial process in balancing the rights of victims, offenders and society
We're meant to refer to 3 points
Which I chose
1. Legal representation 2. Use of evidence including witnesses 3. Pleas, charge negotiation
For legal representation, I have 1 case down (Dietrich v the Queen)
For the other 2, I have no idea..I really am effed for this subject
And I'm anxious because it's on Monday
I don't know how to set it out
Screwed, basically.

Hey Bina!

Sorry you didn't receive a reply earlier! It might be too late now but I'll respond anyway, just in case you would like to have an idea for how to set it up in the future.

You don't just have to have three body paragraphs, although you could do that too. You could have one for each of your points, or you might focus on the victim and society in one paragraph, and then move to the offender in the other. Then move on to the next point.

You might set up each paragraph to contain this:

-Opinion/evaluation statement
-Follow up, if you have one (for example you might have a "In particular, this is detrimental for youth...."
-We can see this in the case study...
-A media article/report/statistic to further your claim
-Remember to talk about the affected group specifically - offenders, victims, and society will all be treated differently.
