well know ur technical drawing, assuming most of ya's are just good at it naturally if not get some decent hours.. know ALL ur elements and principles.. know atleast 3 visual communication purposes, and make sure u don't get mixed up between some of them, as they can be bit confusing. example to promote and advertise.. try to know 3 of the top of ur head which arn't confusing to define.. e.g. don't chose advertise and promote if can't clearly define the difference..
know the areas of professionalism.. im reffering to you know, photographer, ict professionalist, animator, illustrator, artist.. I've seen a couple fo quesitons in past exams relating to you having to name one of the above, which would had been used in producing the final visual communication piece.
ICT tools. do not just mention photoshop and illustrator or the program. mention what they do.. example photoshop may had been used to adjust contrast levels. ECT. be precise with ur answer, meaning answer what the question is asking, without huckin in a whoel lot of useless information. they will assume u arn't clear with what they are asking, and are just chucking in a whoel lot fo information in hope that part of it is right.
your weaknesses. make sure u practise on them.. Mine is toning, as i probly would only get 1/2 or maybe if lucky 2/3 of the marks atm for toning.. Goto assessment reports and look how good the one they display is, but then again i know not everyones is gonna be that good, but that is what can be achieved with practice. AIM HIGH.
know ur technical drawing/viewing angled. planometric, oblique, isometric, 2 point, 1 point and so on... briefly go over sectional drawing, and of course know how to do an orthogonal.
MAKE SURE U USE THE REFERENCE BOOKLET U ARE GIVING.. it can't help to look at it and u can't lose to many marks if u do use the same texture, in the texture section.. (may be 5 out of the 15 or so marks) hence why i say practice with ur weaknesses, and of coruse go over ur strengths.
refrences which may had/have been used to develop the display visual com piece.. this is refferring to what they may have had done before start producing and designing the product. example research.. what type of research. library? marketing? what did this involve..? surveying? competitor?...
techniques i think they call it in one past exam.. i know one past exam was a coffee table or soemthing.. it was varnished, lackered. this are all steps used to produced. wood being cut..
and mostly, those images of shapes which u have to draw from a different point. (usually invovled u rotating the image 90 degrees or more)
please note, (this is pretty much what i've learnt from past exams and been given from teacher)..
hope this helps a little bit, feel free to comment and add more to this list..
EXPECT ALOT OF THESE THINGS TO BE IN THE EXAM.. goodluck everyone, and please post ur results if u want after the exam, as i will be..

show of ur hard work
