Once we complete our final HSC exam, what happens next? Do we ever have to go back to our high school?

Officially, probably not.

It depends on whether your school has any mandatory events post HSC, such as graduation...

You'll probably have to go back to return all of your textbooks and officially sign out of the school, but otherwise no :)

No you don't!

You can go back though to visit old teachers =)

Other than to drop off any textbooks/sign out, there is most likely no obligation for you to go back. However, if your school is offering an "ATAR breakfast" or a "Post HSC meet up" I do recommend that you go to them :) A great way to get closure on school and the HSC (I know that is what our ATAR breakfast felt like to be, because the actual exams were really anti-climactic), and also its really nice for your teachers to hear how you went (they don't know exactly what you got, they can guess, but all they get is the list of scores, no ones name or number) :)

Your school might have an ATAR results day brunch or a high achiever’s assembly. You don’t have to attend these events but its good to say goodbye to everyone and get closure on your high school chapter.
I personally like to visit old teachers from time to time to give them updates (I miss my school too much aha). I’ve also volunteered to help out for career talks at the school :)

How would you give a gift to a teacher after your HSC Exams?

Make sure you time it exactly when you know they have a lesson off or are on break during recess, lunch or after school. Just tell reception you just need to drop off a gift to a teacher then go to your teacher’s staff room :)
