Hi,

Can someone please show me what a "perfect" analytical text response is or guide me as to what I have to do to satisfy all criteria?

Thanks,

Billy

Hi Billy,

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a 'perfect' essay. There are, however, essays that will illustrate many solid and commendable skills. And often, when students pull these qualities together, they produce essays that will mark very highly. So, while I cannot give you, nor provide you with a definition of a 'perfect' essay, I can recommend that you check out these wonderful pieces written by fellow AN users. Within their essays, many of these users have employed excellent skills (whether that be clarity, expression or accurate vocabulary), which are noteworthy of consideration. Reading the essays of others will allow you to draw on certain elements that may work to improve your own writing.

All the best :)

Obviously, you should know your texts really well so that you get a lot out your class sessions with your teacher.  You could also have a look back at your previous analytical text essays and try to identify their weaknesses.  Try to find what needs improving in your essay writing.  You could ask your teacher for some feedback too.
