I'M REALLY SORRY IF THIS REALLY ANNOYS PEOPLE BUT I'M LOW KEY FREAKING OUT
I know there are lots of people on this forum who drop a single mark and freak out. I wish I only dropped one.
I got 86% on my first SAC (data analysis) and I'm really worried I won't be able to get above a 45 (or even 40). I'm pretty new to VCE (I moved from Adelaide in December last year) and I'm not entirely sure how things work but do any of you think that I will be able to get a decent study score if I do really well in my other SACs and exam???
I really hope I didn't mess up my chances at a good study score because I need my other subjects to carry my English (which I'm pretty bad at)

Thanks!

really depends on where the 86% falls within your cohort. Your aim is to get a high ranking - your actual scores are statistically meaningless.

Ohhhh. I know I didn't get Rank 1, 2 or 3. I'm not too sure where I fall but I know we have a really mixed cohort (some really strong people and some people who are really weak)
Do you need a rank above 5 to guarantee a good study score (provided you do well in the exam)?
Thank you!!!

no one would be able to give you a specific rank but Further maths is a subject such that unit 3 and 4 sacs are combined together giving you 1 ranking (unlike other subjects like english where you get a different ranking for unit 3 and unit 4) so even if you aren't ranked too highly right now you can certainly work your way up throughout the year.

hope this helps :)

Hey :)

My friend got 88% on their data analysis SAC and was not rank 1 at the beginning of the year. He decided to focus on doing well in the following SACs and on ensuring that he understood content really well in the lead up to the exam. After the shock from his first SAC, he learnt to move on, was eventually rank 1 by about the middle of the year and performed extremely well in the exams which secured him a 47 study score!

Just focus on doing well in the rest of your SACs because there are plenty waiting for you and as Sine said, you can definitely work your way up ranking wise and achieve a fantastic study score! Don't let one setback affect you significantly!
