Penalties for Failing Assignment

Hello, I was wondering what the penalty for failing an assignment is. Do you have to do a redemption task? Or does your low mark still get counted towards your final grade?
Thanks

That depends on a variety of factors, including the faculty running the unit, what the unit is, and whether the assessment is a hurdle task. If the assignment is not a hurdle requirement (you need to pass hurdles to pass the unit), then in most cases you'll get whatever mark you get for the assignment contributing towards your overall grade. If it's a hurdle requirement, you may fail the unit, or you may be eligible for alternative assessment. Once again, this depends on the faculty running the unit.

Hope that helps :)
