Juves:
Hi all, I got an 88 on my umat, clearing all 50's for the three sections. Was wondering what atar I need to get to achieve an interview? Thank you all!

emmasc:
Hey everyone! I got 90 and above 50 on all sections so what kind of ATAR would I need to get an interview? Thanks!

Lyra7:
Hey :)

I got a 90 and above 50 all sections

As you can see my atar was 99 so I think you can be hopefuly but things change year to year.

Just want to take the opportunity to say congratulations to everyone for having a shot at it and even if you are disappointed hopefully you feel you can learn from the experience. I know it might be a blow and seems very absolute, and its fine to feel upset, the key is that a month from now hopefully you feel a teeny bit less upset at it all.

You know when you're so damn close but just miss it? That's me right now. So devastated. All that hard work down the drain. Been having mental breakdowns all day but I'll get over it.
I hope everyone else on AN did better!

You still have a good shot at JCU and bond (if you are willing to pay) as they don’t look at UMAT. If you are expecting a very high ATAR then UoM, USyd, Griffith and Flinders are on the cards.

If you start another course, you can sit the UMAT again and apply for JCU, UNSW, WSU and JMP as a non-standard. There are also a number of internal transfer pathways the exist in certain unis.

Assuming you don’t have any bonuses, a ~98 ATAR should snag you an interview at Monash, although you’d need higher to give yourself a good shot at getting a place.

Again, ~98 should be enough for a Monash interview.

Don’t be too disappointed, the UMAT is really insignificant in the scheme of things, and if you got close there’s always hope. I know quite a few people who thought their UMAT would destroy their chances of getting into undergrad med but managed to work hard for their ATAR and still get in. Hell, I thought the 50/50/50 rule had ruined my chances but I looked interstate and managed to get in. There’s always other opportunities and it really doesn’t matter if you if it takes you a year or two longer to get into med whether that be via postgrad med or through a transfer. It’s ok to be a bit sad but you should use this to motivate you to smash your ATAR!
