Hey guys,
So I just saw the HSC Career Expo seminar program- guess who's gonna go to the ATAR Notes seminar? Wonder who's gonna be speaking this year...

Do the topics usually change each year? Pretty sure last year's talk was on scaling (Jake did a really good job in explaining it).

On another note, anyone here going to Career Expo?

Jake definitely presented last year and, indeed, killed it. Your only clue - You will see a different presentation this year, with a different speaker ;D

We're keen to see some friendly faces!! Lots of our lecturers doing the rounds - Jake will be there again on Thursday and Sunday. Susie will be around most of the weekend, as will Isaac and Naomi. I'll be around - Oh, and anyone who happened to attend our Bio lectures LAST July will remember Maddie, she'll be around too (she also helped out at our Head Start lectures last October) ;D

Good chance that I will be within the area because my uni is literally a two minute walk from the Royal Hall of Industries. Might come visit the AN stand aha :)

The HSC and Careers Expo is held over four days (this year, Thursday 31 May - Sunday 3 June). It's basically a chance for HSC students (and parents) to speak to unis, TAFEs, education organisations etc. about their options during and beyond the HSC. There are heaps and heaps of exhibitors, where you can get information, ask questions and learn about different opportunities that might suit you.

As alluded to in this thread, there are also seminars that are held over the four days - in fact, there are 100 different seminars! ATAR Notes is presenting one of these - I really, really recommend you head along if you're interested. :)

I'm not 100% sure what day I'm going. Technically I do have that week off but I will be at uni for one of the days as I'm acting in someone's film. The date hasn't been confirmed yet but it's most likely to be either on the 1st (Friday) or the 2nd (Saturday) :)

Would be heaps cool to bump into you, Olivia! You're always welcome to visit me in the AFTRS campus aha ;)

Edit: Since you'll be attending the expo on the Saturday, the EQ markets are on if you wanna check them out. There's alot of food and market stalls.

You're going as well? Sweet!
What's the EQ markets?

I mean, if I'm going to be two minutes away from the expo doing stuff at uni, I might as well drop by and say hi to the AN team :)

The Royal Hall of Industries (where the careers expo will be held at) is situated next to the Entertainment Quarter. The Entertainment Quarter is basically a recreational area filled with a lot of cafes & restaurants, a cinema, laser tag, bowling, karaoke and more! There's a reason why its called the EQ ;) Even my uni is located within the EQ. The EQ markets occur every Wednesday and Saturday and people have food and produce stalls. If you ever get hungry after the expo, you can always visit the EQ markets or just go to one of the cafes/restaurants at the EQ (there's always Subway and Oporto as well aha).

Would be cool if we can all meet up :)
