Sci fi Creative - HELP

Hey,

I need ideas for my sci fi creative - it is set in a post-apocalyptic society.

If you could change one structural aspect of the world, what would it be?

e.g. make all the leaders women

I need to create a society from scratch, hence the question.

One thing my teacher suggested for SF creatives is first coming up with an issue you want to address. Once you've got that, start brainstorming. Basically think about how your concept would look in the future, or how technology would contribute or detract from the issue and the furthest extremes of the issue. Once you've brainstormed, then choose something from the brainstorm and start world building. I'm averaging a band five in creative so obviously take what I've said with a grain of salt, but this is what my teacher gets me to do.
