How do YOU study?

(1/1)

Hey! I was wondering how fellow ancient history students are/have studied for the trials/hsc! It's getting closer to the trials and I'm still figuring out the best ways to successfully get alllllll of the ancient knowledge into my head? So, I was wondering what are/were your ways of studying and revising for ancient history so that you can memorise/know back to back all of the content?

Thank you so much for your help!  :)

Hey,

I used detail tables for each topic and had archaeological evidence and quotes from ancient/modern historians. I also had an argument table for Agrippina, which had the main ways that she was interpreted and events/issues, archaeological evidence and quotes from Ancient and Modern historians. Then I’d try to do a look cover write check with it, to see how much I actually knew and what things I had trouble trying to remember.

I’ve got a mini whiteboard and I’d write a dot point on it and then make mind maps. I’d try and write with one colour all the things I knew without looking/had memorised and then a different colour for the things I still needed to learn. I thinked I liked studying with the whiteboard because it wasn’t the normal pen and paper and I have heaps of different colours to use.

I also made a lot of quizlets and flashcards on stuff like glossarys/terms, timelines, historians and some quotes. I tried to go over these pretty regularly and also test myself through that feature on quizlet. We also played heaps of in class kahoots to try and remember stuff!

Especially for trials, I did a lot more essay plans then full essays because it was a lot quicker. I’d just write out what my main points/evidence would be in each paragraph.

Hope this helps!!  ;D
