Hi all,
Just need some quick help on this question please!
A student performs a titration between sodium hydroxide and acetic acid. What is most appropriate
pH range that the equivalence point is expected to be on a titration curve?
(A) Between 8.0 and 14.0
(B) Between 6.0 and 8.0
(C) Between 1.0 and 6.0
(D) Between 0.0 and 1.0
Hey there!
Going by this rough titration curve:

We can see that the equivalence point is around pH=7-9. This already rules out options C) and D), purely because they are too acidic. pH 14 is quite high a pH to have an equivalence point at, so I'm also inclined to rule out option A). That leaves option B), which is roughly central to where the equivalence point on the titration curve is, so it is the most sensible answer imo.

Hope this helps!

Disclaimer: It may be the other option I was tossing up initially, tired-exam brain is kicking in if I'm off the mark, sorry <3
