Thank you for your input!
I do have an interest in accounting and I really want to work harder, it's just perhaps these marks are an indication that accounting's just not for me. But seeing as I did enjoy going to the tutes and lectures, I'm going to try accounting in sem 2 and then see how I go. If I don't do too well again, I'll just drop it.
Thank you so much for your quick responses, I really appreciate them!
I did a Bachelor of Accounting, trust me mate, it really isn't too difficult. The hardest part is classification, so if you are given an account e.g. Bank Overdraft, you need to know which financial statement it goes in, what it is classified as and whether an increase in the account is on the debit side or the credit side. Once you understand this for every account, it's really really easy and this knowledge alone will get you to 3rd year accounting subjects. (I did accounting in VCE and my year 11 and 12 knowledge got me to 3rd year university, I just tweaked it here and there).
If you're really struggling, get a VCE Accounting text book or a tutor, there are heaps of student tutors who are willing to help tutor the 1st year units.
