Altruism has to have one of my favourite meanings, especially as it is one of my primary values.

To me, altruism is not only about moral and beneficial actions, but also deeply believing in trying to achieve the most good. Selflessness often guides altruism, but selflessness can also carry connotations of self-neglect that I don't connect with altruism so much.

TLDR; Altruism is such a wholesome word and I'm glad you've discovered it.

--- End quote ---

Thank You for your help! You have given me a much deeper understanding and now I'm glad I found the word too! ;D

Great word! Really enjoy this thread.

Another word!

Empirical
This means to have facts based on studies and observations rather than pure logic or theory.

e.g. You can't dispute the facts, they're based empirical evidence!

3D waffle:
Hedonistic
This word is almost an opposite to Altruistic, as it is the action of chasing pleasures.
In other words it is engaging in self-indulgent activity.

eg. In her hedonistic way, she ate all the chocolate.

I don't quite get this word, but hopefully explaining it to you guys will help me understand it!

Allegory(noun)
An allegory is a metaphor, used as a basic object to suggest deeper meaning.
It is when deep meaning is symbolised, such as the blindfolded lady holding the scales being a symbol(/allegory) of justice.

e.g. The book Animal Farm is one of the greatest political allegories ever written.
