I have a question I hope someone has the answer to!

If I am thinking to design a book cover for my folio, what copyright issues do I need to think about? For example, can i use an existing book? If not, can I simple change the name a bit (Eg. Harry Potter to Barry Botter)? What about the publisher's name?

Also, If i want this as communication need one and I want to do environmental design for communication need two, any ideas on what I can design for my client being the author itself or a publishing company?

Hey Madadeeb,

I hope this reply isn't too late to be useful. When it comes to copyright, it's always best to be on the safe side. I would highly recommend coming up with an original book title and synopsis (you don't have to write it, just have an idea of what it's about). Other than for the copyright reasons, this makes it much easier to come up with original ideas. When something already exists, it can be hard to get past that and come up with something completely new.

For the environmental design component, let your imagination run wild! You could design a fictional building from your book, a new building for the publishing company, or even a writers cottage for the author. Whatever you choose, make sure it interests you as you'll be spending a lot of time thinking about it and working on it.

Best of luck!

Hello,
I am completing accelerated VCD this year, and I extremely dislike it. I didn't complete Units 1&2 - and started the subject much later in the year, so on my first Sac was a mere 88%, however my second Sac was an 100%. My Folio is around at 95%. What exam mark does it take to achieve a 40+(scaled) ATAR? Is it possible?
I am indeed in much panic!
Also, in my developments I referenced some artworks, however they are not in my final designs. Would that be a problem?

Hi! I'm doing viscom 3/4 next year and I'm really depending on it to drag up my ATAR. If anybody has ANY tips at all on how to do well in this subject, what to look out for, what you wish you knew when you first started 3/4 etc, and is willing to share, I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Hi Joseph, when would you recommend starting exam prep? Thank you!! :)
