FURTHER MATHS SS

Hey guys,

So I haven't been doing very well in my sacs, probably averaging a D+ This is mainly due to hard sacs (we choose the hardest level of sacs). I attempt practice exams and seem to do extremely well, I haven't dropped below an A+ in them..

If I do poorly on my sacs but get an A - A+ on the exam, is a 35 achievable?

Thanks  :)

Hi! I don't think you have to worry about your sac scores too much, it's more about your ranking within your cohort. Considering you have hard sacs as well, it is possible that your internal scores may be moderated up. Have you asked around and found out how much people got for the same sac you did? If you did, were more people higher or lower than your score?

I think a 35 is still achievable for you, there is still 1 or 2 sacs for you to go, and you can study really hard for it and do well. From my experience, I got a sac in the 90s, in the 50s, in the 80s and in the 40s, but studied hard for the exam and ended up getting A's for both exams, as well as an A for the sacs, getting a 37 raw in the end.

I think our internal SAC marks do get moderated up due to the difficulty of the SAC's (our sacs are probably 5x harder than the exams). I'm probably around average in my cohort, we have a cohort full of specialist and methods students who obviously do well in comparison to the rest of the cohort though which is my concern.

I averaged around D for my first sac, C+ for my second, I asked around and people seemed to get roughly around the same mark as me or even lower. Although I am aware there are students achieving very high marks.

And wow that's really good, congrats!
