when finding the angle between vectors, its between two vectors that are "tail to tail" right??? i came across an exam question that just did head to tail. so my answer is completely different. Which one is it?

"tail to tail"

maybe you need to extend the head to tell vector to make them tail to tail. or simply substract the answer you got from 180

right. the question was a perpendicular question, asking to find an unknown value (ie: M). since its perpendicular, either tail to tail, or as u said, extend the head, will both result in 90degrees either way. but the actual vectors will be different, hence getting me the incorrect M value.

(this was qu.1iii, in vcaa 2002, exam2)

If its perpendicular, head to tail or tail to tail shouldn't matter.
