Let's all discuss!! Who's school is offering science extension and are any of y'all doing it? Is it worth doing a new subject that's never been done before? How about the fact that it's the first ONLINE HSC EXAM?!? Please share your thoughts.  :P

I am genuinely fascinated by the choice to do an online exam. It will either be a great thing, or go spectacularly wrong - We shall see

Keen to hear from anyone doing this course! I reckon I would of if I had the chance

Since the exam is going to be online which I personally found is weird.... Students can very easily cheat if it is done within school computers or laptop (unless computers are heavily monitored by NESA staff)... if they are done at home (which I highly doubt would happen anyway..)... then there might be filters of some sort??

On the other hand, I don't think they can cheat. It's very possible they use software similar to what they use currently for NAPLAN, where they have a program instead of an online-based site where the test is done. This helps prevent cheating as usually from what I hear the rest of the desktop gets locked out until the test is over. However, on those days everyone just wants to cry because the internet gets knocked out for the rest of the school :'(

But please i need more of these online things for exams, i hate writing

I have an online exam for uni this semester and they use a locked down browser to stop you from using unauthorised programs and accessing webpages; I imagine that a similar approach would be used for the HSC.

I highly, highly, highly, doubt they would be completed at home as there is wayyy too much that could go wrong

No, I'm not (fortunately? unfortunately? its hard to say when you know nothing about it and your school doesnt offer it). I'm very open to the idea, but personally looking at the name 'science extension' already scares me off, extension subjects (except maths) just seem a little bit weird

SBHS don't offer science extension??  Very unusual for a top school imo..
