Well it really depends on what you classify as separator questions. For some people, the majority of the exams might be made out of separator questions, or the top students might think there are only 2 marks worth of separator questions. Because this is a very subjective matter, in my opinion, it would just be best if you put in all the effort you have into achieving the best study score in methods you can and not to dwell on what other people are getting or the performance of others

The separators where <10% get full marks I'm really struggling to do. Would it be best to ignore these altogether and master the easy to moderate sections of the exam?

Well, in my opinion, once you're actually in the exam, questions will appear harder than they seem because of the stress you feel. So it would be best to give each question a little bit of thought, and if you can't do it, then just move on and complete everything you can. After, if you have remaining time, then have another crack at the questions you cannot do.

Nahh. Definitely give these ones a go. Write something down, so you can get the marks for that. While your idea of getting the easier ones is a good approsch, make sure that you can do these questions make sure they are right and leave a little bit of time for the harder ones. Sometimes, there are harder question parts followed by easier ones. A good example of this is:

Consider a question that has parts a, b, c and d. Say part a and b were some hard parts you didnt know what to do. What i recommend is that you swrite something sensible down, you might still get 1 or 2 marks out of 3 or 4. However, you dont have to move on; read c and d too.  See if you can squeeze out some more marks. Doing this can sometimes be the difference between a score you're really happy about and a score you think does not reflect your efforts.

Hope this helps.
PM me for Methods (raw 46) and Chemistry (raw 48) resources (notes, practice SACs, etc.)

I also offer tutoring for these subjects, units 1-4 :)

What things guarantee a method mark? Apart from writing f'(x) = 0 for stationary points
