Regarding VCAA 2006 Exam 1 and 2

For those that have done it, were they easy, average or hard papers?


To be honest, I found them straightforward which is good i suppose. The only reason I'm asking is because it's my first set of official current study design exams

I think 2006 was the easiest VCAA paper. Pretty straightforward as you said

Awwww so it was 'easy' .... let's just hope 2009 mimics 2006

It was the first year of the new system (it used to be both exams were 1 1/2 hours and you were allowed 1 page of notes in both), so they made the non-calculator section in particular extremely easy. My friends and I all finished that exam in half an hour.

Yeah pretty straightforward. I just needed to check the validity of one of my solutions. For 2c where it asks to show that angle ADC and angle ABC are supplementary. I found cos(ADC) = 0.8 and cos(ABC) = -0.8 and then stated that ADC was 1st quadrant and ABC was second quadrant and said:

and hence and worked out the rest. Is that allowed?

Their solution in the assessment report is obviously good and everything, I was wondering whether this is acceptable or whether my solution makes a leap of mathematical logic somewhere.
