LAT Results
(1/1)
leotlion:
Hey everyone! So LAT results came out today and I was wondering how everyone went!
The LAT is very new (introduced only in 2016!), so I'm not even sure what is considered a good result...
I got 86/100 which equates to the 88th percentile which doesn't seem like a particularly decent result :(
How did you guys go?

Anything above 70th is considered competitive and last year's median for people who entered UNSW Law was 74. I also heard that last year 75th percentile and a low 98 atar was enough to get into UNSW Law, so presumably with an 88th percentile, you would probably only need 95-96 atar to gain entry.
I myself got 90th percentile with an 88/100 score and now I basically don't need my backups so I'm over the moon about it.

The median for last year was actually a mark of 80. However, I predict it will only be roughly 78 this year. I'd feel confident with a 97 with your score, however that might be in excess or not enough, as the scoring is so inconsistent between years.
NowYouTseMe:
My bad, I just read up on that too ahaha
The lack of transparency between years as well as in regards to what would warrant entry or now is super frustrating but what can you do
leotlion:
Based on the ogives they gave, it's quite obvious that this year's median LAT score is lower than last years! 50th percentile was a score of ~77 in 2017 but this year its around 70! Have a look yourself: https://lat.acer.edu.au/files/LAT_2017_Ogive.pdf https://lat.acer.edu.au/files/LAT_2018_Ogive.pdf
But yeah, in 2016 apparently the median ATAR and LAT score to get in was 98 and 74 respectively...
Hopefully I'll get over 99.50 and won't even need to use my LAT results by getting into USYD :D

That's the dream right there...
