In the exam, if you realised that you were falling behind in time, would you opt to finish the piece first or move on to another piece?

if that did happen, i'd aim to write a quick conclusion, and then move on, because it's probably not worth sacrificing the other sections at the expense of one

Depends on the amount of time remaining and the amount of writing left to finish the piece.

Realistically you want to be able to finish with 3 complete pieces, so if you're already writing a piece, unless you've got absolutely no idea what to write about next then I'd suggest that you finish off the piece quickly whilst you have the ideas in your head/on a plan. If you've got no idea what to write about next then just move on to another piece and come back to it later.

That's what I think anyway...

Yeah you really don't want to barely start on piece, that'll be deadly...
