What is important in chapter 1(heinemann book) - fuels?

Hi Guys,

Could someone give me an indication as to what I need to know from chapter 1. I have looked at the study design and don't get still what is necessary to know. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if someone who has the heinemann chemistry text book (the 5th edition one) if they can pinpoint which sections of which pages are necessary, so I would know exactly what I need to study for chapter 1.

All responses will be much appreciated. Thanks

The first two pages of 1.1 (other than the units for energy) aren't related to the study design however I still recommend reading over because that kind of information may be assessed in short-answer/extended-response, as it is related to the other topics. Electricity production is again not in the study design but good to know for the same reason. All else is directly in the study design.

The study design should tell you quite directly what you need to know and what you don’t. Textbooks are often filled with a lot of other unnecessary information so I would literally have the study design in front of me when making notes.

Perhaps we could help you with dot points of the study design you may not understand?
