Criteria 1 is your project management task. You demonstrate how you are going to manage your project over time. We used a gantt chart (using ms project) and pretty much listed tasks we were supposed to do for completing the solution. They are sublisted into dif criterias. The criterias should abide to the PSM in order.
example here. (It is continued until criteria 8)
Then criteria 2 is your data collection tools. Typically here you are meant to create context diagram, dfd and ucd of the existing system a client has. Then you ask questions regarding the clients existing system so you can gather that information to improve it in the updated system that you will make. I used 4 data collection tools: survey, interview, observation, and document/records
I'll give an example of each:
Interview: (to director of company)
Do you see any flaws within the system that you currently have?
Who is notified when inventory levels sink below threshold levels?
Survey: (To users that have access to database system)
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the usability of the current system?
On a scale of 1-10, How well does this current system function?
Observations:
Usability of the program
Security Features of the designated program
Documents and Records:
Last financial report – 2017 Stock Report
Yeah lol, that's pretty much it.
P.s Excuse how I type, it's not an eloquent english

Interesting, I wasn't aware of the prominence of database use in the requirements for the SAT. Seems like SoftDev is ultimately a lot more similar to Informatics than I thought. A lot of these suggestions seem like just making a DBMS, or making simple calculations using data from a DB, which I can't help but feel won't be such an interesting time! But I'm sure there's breathing room within that space.

There's nothing about databases in the study design. The closest thing you will get is XML which is covered in the exam. There's no requirements to learn databases though such as MYSQL, MSAccess etc..
Sunglassesses:
