Paying for unimelb FFP MD

FEE-HELP gets me around half of the total cost ($150,000) however there is still another 150k left after that. Is it possible to get bank loans to help pay for this? If so, around what percentage do interest rates tend to be? If I have a scholarship for my undegrad degree that subsidises my HECS cost, can this count towards my postgrad degree?

Getting a loan for the amount of money would be really tricky if you don't have an income, or if you don't have a family member who would be your guarantor. Loans are given on your capacity to pay. Some banks (like BOQ specialist) will make things a little easier for medical students in terms of accessing finance, as they know you'll be working towards a career that is pretty stable in terms of income.

If your scholarship pays off your HECS, then it will increase the amount of HECS you can use for your FFP.

Thanks vox nihili. Would a part time job be enough of an income to increase my chances? (The type of job that the average 17 or 18 yo would do.). Also, I have multiple family members (parents/cousins) that are willing to be my guarantor, would this alone be enough or do I also need a job to have a chance.
Really appreciate the example bank you provided, it would be great if there are any others that you can give that give advantages to medical students / have low interest rates.

Balancing medical school with a part time job would be really challenging. Certainly plenty of people do it, but during the week you really don't have much spare time and you'd need to be in a job that provides flexibility.
I'm not hugely sure about the ins and outs of loans, so you'd need to discuss that with a bank and with family.
