You write a total of three pieces.

One text response (they will give you two questions per text and you pick ONE)
One Creating and Presenting piece
One language analysis

As for the effect of the visual image, it usually serves to support the argument of the article/letter. However it could oppose it.

In either case discuss how it does so, ie. how the choice of photo/cartoon presents a point of view.

Ok

Look for
toning
shadow- maybe it casts a sombre tone?
contrast
colour- to bring attention to particular objects
size e.g. are some features exaggerated? to increase prominence?
the actual people/characters in it= e.g. last year there was a donkey representing a parent= being an "ass", "an animal" etc
the ACTIONS of the people
Captions they can help tell you whats going on in the image and what somebody thinks

so you would go through some of the above to reach a conclusion, is the cartoonist MOCKING a politicians opinion or policy for example?

If there was for example I don't know a Prime Minister and his nose was drawn very very long= cartoonist suggesting he can't be trusted. he is a liar (pinocchio)

If the other characters have a sad/happy/scared face it reflects on the MAIN character/object being presented

hmm? The OP was happy with it =.=*, and I only provided a very basic/skelton of what is expected. For there is no right answer really, but by giving dreamz a basis, she can work out what colour is etc and how it persuades, hence it does look pretty bare and incomplete.

If tehre is anything in particular wrong let me know so I can edit it =S

I'm with Nova here.. I think that was an excellent basic outline as to how to approach visual analysis.  Anything more comprehensive than that would be lost on someone who is new to this idea (which I don't mean to insult Dreamz by saying, but it seems to be that case).

Also, mtwtfss, if you're picking out some kind of small grammatical/spelling error than Nova made (which I cannot pick up) then it would be appropriate for you to specifically mention what that is.  Not doing so would suggest that have failed to "think before you type".

Your content is fine, it sounds harsh but we just don't need to see statements such as:

'hmm?'

'if there was for example I don't know a Prime Minister'

Yeah theres probably over 10 grammar/spelling mistakes, but im not too fussed by these.
Sorry, its just annoying.
